Revolut rolls out eSIM, Mobile Plans, RevPoints boosts and UK trading
Revolut is doubling down on user perks: cheaper roaming via in-app eSIM, a Mobile Plan on the way, richer RevPoints for travel bookings, and UK/EU stock trading coming soon. Here’s the practical impact for travelers and everyday spenders.
SYDNEY — 08 Aug 2025 — Revolut’s recent updates are squarely aimed at everyday users: cheaper roaming via in-app eSIM and upcoming Mobile Plans, a broader RevPoints ecosystem (with concrete AU earn rates), travel bookings that earn/redeem points, automated investing, and UK/EU stock trading on the way. Here’s the user-feature low-down.
The latest Revolut user features
• Travel data without the bill shock: Revolut’s eSIM is live across multiple regions (including AU, NZ, SG, JP), offering install-in-app global data plans in 100+ countries. AU landing pages are up with plans “from $2”.
• Mobile Plans (calls & texts) coming: A new SIM plan (UK first) is in the works: unlimited calls/texts, domestic data, plus 20GB EU/US roaming, intro pricing £12.50/mo with number-porting. Waitlist is open.
• RevPoints everywhere: Revolut’s debit-based loyalty lets you earn points on spend and convert to airline miles, discounts at Revolut Pay, and money off Stays & Experiences. AU earn rates (as of 15 Jul 2025): Standard/Plus 16:1, Premium 8:1, Metal 3:1 (AUD:Points).
• Book & earn in-app: Stays (hotels) and Experiences (tours/attractions) now sit inside RevPoints—earn on bookings and redeem points against them.
• Investing made simpler: Robo-Advisor rolled out across the EEA and in Singapore (from US$100/€100), with auto-rebalancing portfolios.
• UK users: more ways to invest: Revolut secured a UK trading licence, paving the way for UK & EU stock trading; it has also announced a stocks & shares ISA (tax-advantaged investing) for UK customers.
• Cash access pilot: First Revolut-branded ATMs launched in Spain (50 initially, targeting 200), with fee-free withdrawals for Revolut users and in-machine card dispensing; locations show on an in-app map.
Why it matters (for BER readers)
• Travelers: eSIM + (soon) Mobile Plans reduce roaming costs and faff; Stays/Experiences + RevPoints tie bookings to rewards.
• Everyday spenders: Clear AU earn rates make it easier to value points; airline-mile transfers and Revolut Pay discounts add real redemption utility.
• Investors: Robo-Advisor lowers the barrier to a diversified portfolio; UK users get ISA and local stock access inside the same app.
What to watch next
• Mobile Plans rollout timing beyond the UK.
• UK & EU stock trading go-live for all users and asset coverage growth.
• RevPoints partners/airline tie-ins expanding by region (incl. AU).
• ATM footprint beyond Spain and features like cash deposits.
