Overview
Regions Bank supports incoming and outgoing international wires for eligible US accounts. Its personal pricing schedule effective 11 May 2026 lists a $50 outgoing international wire fee and an $18 incoming fee.
When Regions converts currency, the exchange rate also affects the recipient amount. The fixed wire fee should therefore be considered alongside the customer rate and possible intermediary or recipient-bank deductions.
Regions debit cards can be used internationally, subject to country controls. Regions charges a 3% International Service Assessment on covered foreign transactions, and international ATM withdrawals have a separate $5 fee.

Exchange Rates and Wire Details
Regions publishes UPNBUS44 as its international wire routing or SWIFT address and UPNBUS44MIA for Miami. Customers should use the instructions supplied for their particular account and currency.
Regions' commercial FX service offers real-time customer pricing, spot transactions, forwards, swaps and multicurrency accounts. Those business features should not be assumed to be included with every personal checking account.
Overseas Card Use
Regions says debit-card transactions processed outside the US or US territories incur a 3% fee. If conversion is required, Visa applies its network conversion process, which can differ from the mid-market rate.
An international ATM withdrawal also carries Regions' $5 charge and may attract an operator fee. Choose local currency at an ATM or merchant unless you intentionally accept dynamic currency conversion. Travellers can compare the Wise debit card, which uses the mid-market rate with a separately disclosed conversion fee; availability and pricing vary.
Speed
International-wire timing depends on the destination, currency, beneficiary bank, intermediary routing, cutoff time and compliance checks. Regions does not publish one delivery window that applies to every personal international wire.
Ask for the expected value date and track the payment through Regions. A wire may be delayed when beneficiary information or purpose-of-payment details are incomplete.
Safety and Account Checks
Verify the beneficiary name, account number, bank code and SWIFT details independently. Wire payments are difficult to reverse, and Regions lists separate fees for recalls, amendments and investigations.
Regions Bank is a Member FDIC. Deposit insurance does not cover an authorised scam payment or guarantee that a completed wire can be recovered.
Verdict
Regions provides conventional international-wire access with clearly published personal fees and more advanced services for businesses. The $50 outgoing charge makes the total exchange cost important, particularly on smaller wires.
Compare the recipient amount after the exchange rate, fixed fee and possible bank deductions. For overseas card spending, include both the 3% Regions assessment and the applicable Visa conversion.
